You're not a Real Jew - You're not a Real Palestinian!
How Real People Respect Equality, Liberty, Brotherhood and Show Compassion.

How often have we heard lately:
"You're not a real Jew (ethnic) / Israeli / American / Palestinian / Lebanese / Syrian / Arab!"
"You're not a real Jew (religious) / Muslim / Christian / Hindu"
Just watch the video linked below!
Guess what?
You can be a Real
1. Jew (by faith, ethnicity, Semitic/Hebrew DNA) and
a. Support the right of Jews to have their own country / ethno-state (where the majority of the population is Jewish) and defend such a state from domestic & foreign enemies within international law, including internationally recognized borders.
b. Criticize and stand against any and all wrongs & crimes committed against ethnic Palestinians (Muslims, Christians & etc.) by the State of Israel and/or Israeli citizens, including
- Discrimination, persecution, and Apartheid-like policies,
- Ethnic cleansing campaigns (incl. not permitting refugees from military conflicts to return to their places of original/permanent residence),
- Major Human Rights Violations, including ethnic profiling, detention & arrest, incarceration, false imprisonment, police & prison brutality, excessive use of force, torture, beatings & sexual assaults, manslaughter (wrongful death), negligent homicide] and even intentional homicide.
- War Crimes & Crimes Against Humanity, including Genocide, violations of rules pertaining to occupation of foreign territories and treatment of civilians & enemy combatants on these territories,
c. Support Israeli government measures and operations against Palestinian terrorists and war criminals.
d. Support the right of Palestinians to have their own fully independent & absolutely sovereign state (country) in the Gaza Strip and The West Bank, which would include the right to regulate the access to Palestinian territory by Israeli government & military personnel as well as Israeli citizens (incl. issuance, denial or revocation of entry visas, residence & work permits and permits to purchase, own or rent land and other property)
e. Support the right of Palestinians who have been wronged by the State of Israel to demand compensation for their losses, pain & suffering as well as the restoration of their internationally recognized legal rights.
f. Disagree with, criticize, condemn and/or refuse to follow religious teachings, sacred texts and leaders that support
(i) religious/ethnic/racial superiority of their followers and the inferiority of their opponents / non-believers,
(ii) the right to discriminate against, persecute, subjugate, enslave, expel, dispossess, and/or commit various torts & crimes against opponents or non-believers,
2. A Palestinian, an Arab, a Muslim, Christian, Hindu, Buddhist or a member of any other ethnic & religious group and
a. Recognize and/or support the right of Jews to have their own ethno-state, the State of Israel, within internationally recognized borders (e.g. 1948 or 1967),
b. Refuse to support and/or condemn the commission of
- terrorist acts,
- war crimes,
- crimes against humanity,
- major human rights abuses,
- discriminatory acts
against Israeli citizens or Jews (by faith, ethnicity, heritage) from/in other countries,
even if the above acts are being committed by Palestinians, Arabs or Muslims within the framework of opposing (in retaliation against)
(i) Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories and/or
(ii) Israeli / Jewish discrimination or persecution of Palestinians, Egyptians, Jordanians, Lebanese, Syrians, or other Arabs, Muslims and Christians/
c. Refuse to follow any religious teachings, leaders or organizations that
(i) hold and preach the spiritual, moral, intellectual, cultural or physical inferiority of Jews or Israeli citizens and/or
(ii) preach, support, encourage, organize or perpetrate any torts, crimes or human rights violations (see above) against Jews or Israeli citizens.
Why?
Because normal, moral, spiritual, educated and tolerant people -- regardless of their faith (Jewish, Muslim, Christian) or nationality/citizenship (Israeli, Palestinian, American, Lebanese, Syrian & etc.) -- should believe in, know and observe in their conduct the following principles:
a. Equality - all human beings are born equal and should be treated as such -- in our personal & business affairs and by the state (under the law) -- regardless of their ethnicity, nationality (citizenship), race religion.
Yes, some people end up -- by personal choice & effort, with support from friends & family, through connections or by mere circumstance (right place & time) -- with more knowledge & education, professional & social success, income & assets, political & social power, all of which can lead to socio-economic inequality.
Yet, moral & spiritual people should recognize & treat ALL other human beings based on our innate (G-d given) equality, for instance as citizens / people with equal rights to
- self-defense,
- self-determination,
- freedom of speech,
- freedom of assembly (religious and political),
- property & practice of own profession / trade,
- reside anywhere in their country and travel to/from their country at will.
If so, then treating other people based on equality would exclude the possibility of supporting religious & political ideology, policy and action that violates the legal / human rights of others.
b. Liberty - all human beings have the same right to freedom (personal, economic, political, religious and cultural).
This fundamental right must not be violated based on individual, collective or state (government) ideology and policy (e.g. based on a false sense of religious, ethnic or racial superiority)
c. Brotherhood - we are all G-d's children, regardless of our ethnicity, nationality, race or religion.
As such, we are all brothers & sisters and have a responsibility to care for, help and protect our human siblings.
True brothers & sisters don't hate, envy, discriminate against, persecute, plot against, attack / assault, rob or steal from each other.
d. Mercy & Compassion - all of us should feel, believe in and apply these attributes equally and fairly to all other human beings, especially children, women and the elderly, regardless of whether these individuals belong to other ethnic, racial, religious, cultural or socio-economic groups.
This type of mercy and compassion reminds moral & spiritual people that the children of terrorists & war criminals deserve equal protection, as they have no choice or say to who they were born and are innocent by definition (both spiritual and legal).
Truly ignorant people, on the other hand, no matter how seemingly educated, religiously pious, patriotic or democratic, will not hesitate to
a. label their own people with who they don't agree as
- not real (Jews, Arabs, Muslims, Christians),
- traitors,
- useful idiots and/or
- enemy-lovers.
b. find any excuse under the sun to
- justify and exploit their artificially created and imposed sense & position of superiority over other groups of people,
- violate the human rights of their opponents through discrimination, persecution and all other unlawful and immoral methods described above.
So the choice is clear.
If you're a true G-d fearing, moral and spiritual human being, then you will treat others with
- dignity,
- respect,
- equality,
- brotherhood,
- compassion and mercy.
If both sides applied the above in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict (which has been raging since the creation of the state of Israel in May 1948), then we would have had a better chance of standing up to radicals and extremists from both sides who have been able to hijack government policy and resources to commit wrongful actions & horrific crimes that have hurt so many innocent people both in Israel (e.g. Crimes during Hamas' October 7, 2023, attack on Israeli soil) and on Palestinian territories (Gaza & West Bank) since October 7th.
Sadly, today we have so many people on both sides who have been programmed (brainwashed) to hate, distrust and disdain the other side to the point where
- even assaulting, kidnapping, torturing and killing civilians, women and children has become a justified norm, acceptable collateral damage or even a preferred effective tactic to reach your goals by scaring, intimidating, demoralizing and collectively punishing your enemy.
- those in your group who refuse to support and dare to publicly criticize, condemn and oppose such immoral, sinful (i.e. evil) and/or unlawful tactics cannot be considered REAL compatriots, REAL Jews, Palestinians, Arabs, Muslims or Christians.
- pointing out the fallacy of their arguments (based on facts, logic, secular and religious laws & precepts) leads to cognitive dissonance, confusion and the stubborn refusal to accept those with alternative viewpoints as real members of your own group.
The young Jewish mother in the video is distraught and shocked that Orthodox and/or Hasidic religious Jews could oppose Zionism, the State of Israel and its current policies against Palestinians, Arabs and Muslims.
How can you hold the Palestinian flag and support Palestinians?
She ends up crying and repeating, "How can you be real Jews"?
Perhaps someone can send her this brief essay?
Any suggestions? Objections? Questions?
Shalom / Salaam,
